United States President-Elect, Joe Biden, has criticized President Donald Trump over his refusal to concede defeat at the November 3 presidential elections.

Biden was projected as presumed winner of the election after polls count showed he had crossed the 270 electoral college votes required to win the presidency.

But Trump has broke with tradition and refused to concede defeat, insisting he won the election but it was been stolen from him without yet any concrete evidence before the courts.

After a press briefing on Tuesday, Biden was asked to state his position on why Trump was yet to concede and what that might mean for the country?

“Well, I just think that it is an embarrassment, quite frankly. I think it will not help the President’s legacy; I think I know from my discussion with foreign leaders that they are hopeful that the United States democratic institutions is being viewed once again as being strong.

“But I think at the end of the day its all going to come to fruition in January 20 and between now and then, my hope and expectation is that the American people do know there has been a transition,” he replied.

United States Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, heightened tension when he said at a press conference that the administration was preparing for a transition to a “second Trump administration.”

He urged the world to wait for the counting of legal votes and the constitutional declaration of the true winner at the polls.

He claimed that he was confident that Trump would get a second term in office.

“There will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration; we’re going to count all the votes.

“When the process is complete there’ll be electors selected. There’s a process; the Constitution lays it out pretty clearly.

“The world should have every confidence that the transition necessary to make sure that the State Department is functional today, successful today, and successful with the president who’s in office on January 20th … will also be successful,” he said.

According to the Associated Press, Biden had scored 290 Electoral College votes to win the election.
