Paul Pogba admits playing for Manchester United “is not easy”, but he is keeping his sights set on “the big stuff” after enduring more semi-final heartache at the hands of rivals Manchester City.

Manchester United are reportedly still unsure about Paul Pogba’s intentions this summer, the Frenchman’s current contract set to expire at the end of next season.

The World Cup winner looked almost certain to leave the club back in December after his outspoken agent, Mino Raiola, stated that his client’s future lay away from Old Trafford, the Italian’s comments coming out just a matter of hours before United‘s eventual Champions League defeat to RB Leipzig.

While many deemed that would be the end of the 27-year-old’s Red Devils career then and there, he has since gone on to once again become a key player for the side, netting crucial goals against the likes of West Ham, Burnley and Fulham over the festive period.

Although he’s been absent since picking up a thigh injury in the 3-3 draw with Everton a month ago, he looks set to return in the coming weeks which could be the boost that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side needs amid their recent underwhelming form.

While he is still a crucial player for the Norwegian, the Express report that United are still ‘in the dark’ over Pogba’s intentions this summer, with his future seemingly still up in the air.

The French international’s current deal is set to expire in June 2022, with no sign yet of any extension being negotiated between the club and Pogba’s representatives.

The Premier League side are understandably hoping not to lose the midfielder for free next year, and if he does decide to leave, they will be looking to recoup a significant transfer fee – having signed him for £89m back in 2016.

While the likes of Real Madrid and former club Juventus have long been linked with a move for the midfielder, both sides are currently struggling financially and may be unwilling to pay United’s asking price, while PSG have also been linked.

To Pogba’s credit, amid all the speculation, he has not shown signs of a player who is desperate to leave the club and has played in a variety of different positions to the benefit of the team, including in an unconventional right-wing role against Liverpool at Anfield back in January.
