Former USA U17 star Toni Payne will finally make her long-awaited debut for the Super Eagles today in an opening group game of the Turkish Women’s Cup against CSKA Moscow.

Payne, who parents hail from Ibadan, has successfully changed international allegiance to Nigeria after she has previously represented USA at age-grade levels.

She missed out on the 2019 World Cup in France because her application for a change came late.

The dashing winger has been dazzling for Sevilla Fameni in Spain after an eventful time at Ajax Amsterdam.

This is coach randy Waldrum’s first match in charge of the African champions and he has gone for experience with captain Asisat Oshoala leading the attack alongside Francisca Ordega and Chiwendu Ihezuo.

Defenders Onome Ebi and Osinachi Ohale as well as the durable midfielder Rita Chikwelu will also start for the Falcons.

Kick-off time is 8.30 am today in Nigeria.
