Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez says he hopes to be back playing football soon despite suffering a fractured skull in a horrific clash of heads with Arsenal defender David Luiz.

Wolves have issued an injury update on a number of players, including the rehabilitation of Raùl Jiménez.

The 29-year-old striker has been out since suffering a fractured skull in a colission with Arsenal defender David Luiz in the 2-1 win at the Emirates on November 29.

A medical update released on the club’s website on Wednesday morning confirmed that Jiménez is “doing some early fitness work, but still has a long way to do, however things are going well” five weeks from surgery.

It has also been confirmed that winger Daniel Podence is set to miss a few weeks of action after picking up a muscle injury against Manchester United.

However, it is better news regarding Leander Dendoncker, who is now back in training after missing the last four games.

Defender Willy Boly has also been missing and is expected to take to outdoor training later this week.
